Thank you for a wonderful, successful Pancake Breakfast. So many people came together with a lot of hard work to make the event run smoothly.
The food and drinks were great, and well organized. Students were happily fed and supervised by caring parents. Front table check-in, merchandise table, raffle, and craft fair were all well organized. The Booster Board, leads and volunteers did so much to make this happen and really took the worry from Mr. Lu and I. We were able to focus on the kids and the music and they did a wonderful job! Quartets and combos sounded awesome!! It is going to be an amazing year.
I am so fortunate to work at Hart with your amazing children and such a wonderful supportive community.
Thanks again! Much gratitude,

ALL STATE BAND INFORMATION
Trying out for California Jr High/MS All State Orchestra is optional, but it is a a great learning process- you will learn scales and a solo on your instrument and submit a recorded audition in the fall. If accepted, you would spend a weekend in Fresno in February 2020 with the best young musicians in the state with an amazing band director for an unforgettable experience.
The music and scales as well as all instructions are here. Read everything completely, order the music from Ingram and Braun's Music Shoppe or another music store, download the scales and learn everything. Recordings must be done before Thanksgiving Break so you have several months to practice. Many students work on All State music with their private music teachers. Last year we had 3 Hart students accepted to State Band and 3 accepted into All Northern and they had a wonderful time.
ALL NORTHERN BAND INFORMATION
You also have the opportunity to participate in the All Northern Band, which is in Stockton in January. Music and info is not out yet, but usually they use the same music as All State and deadlines are the same. CODA All State Orchestra Audition materials are coming soon, check their website for more info.
We will have a meeting in Sept to go over information for both events. Our Coordinator for this process, Mr. Thompson (parent of a 6th grade student) will be helping with the applications. Music selections are the same as All State Jr High/Middle School Band. See link for details.
The Willow Road Instrumental Boosters are planning a wonderful year of music, performances and travel. We are asking for your help. The following areas are in need of assistance. Most jobs require only a few hours of time each year and it is a wonderful way to be more involved in your child's education. Please look at the list and let Sarah McClimon or Co-President Jeannette Woo know how you would like to be involved.
